StartHub Roundtables are monthly gatherings at the Venture Café Cambridge featuring a guest startup speaker from StartHub’s Startup to Watch program. Bringing together the Greater Boston startup community, this free series is a great opportunity for you to get engaged, ask questions, & learn more about what it takes to start a company, all in a casual café setting. Walk-ins are welcome.
Regina Ye is a Generation Z entrepreneur making it happen in Boston. She started ZIRUI from a dorm room at Mount Holyoke College, where she recently graduated with a degree in computer science. The idea of ZIRUI started at an entrepreneurship class in junior year, and then turned into a successful Kickstarter campaign. Regina is now in Boston working full-time on ZIRUI(pronounced /ZEE’RAY/), which is a travel-friendly packaging platform for personal care and beauty products. The first product from ZIRUI is the ZIRUI GO Case, a magnetic travel case for liquids, which she had the idea of after a trip to Grace Hopper Conference in Texas, and realizing all of her carefully-packaged beauty products leaked in the suitcase. Being frustrated and shocked, she decided to engineer a better solution to a seemingly small yet high-frequency problem of transporting personal care products on the go. Regina is also a world traveller that has travelled to more than 22 countries, a competitive equestrian rider in college, a lover of underground techno parties when she is not stressing over production or sales at ZIRUI.
