Flare Jewelry, Inc. is seeking a VP of Engineering. Sitting at the intersection of hardware and software development, you will be a guiding force in our product development and prototyping processes. You will work closely with the founders and a team of engineers to lead the design and execution of all hardware and software development. The work will require creativity, persistence, comfort with the unknown, and a solid knowledge of the iterative product development cycle. BS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field. Current BS or MS students encouraged to apply as well Embedded device software development required. Wearable tech experience preferred Experience in hands-on wireless microelectronics or other electronics projects (circuit design, soldering, etc.), rapid prototyping, and fluency with workshop tools (oscilloscopes, function generators, etc.) Experience evaluating and debugging hardware in a lab environment Relentless problem solver Ability to mentor and develop young engineers/interns and lead the development of all hardware products associated with Flare Guide all product development from concept, to detail design, to full-scale manufacturing. Expertise in design for manufacturability a plus Ideate and supervise the appropriate methods of testing for both prototype and production level hardware and software Engage in collaboration between electrical, wireless connectivity, software, design, and other work streams. Be organized and experienced in documenting work Strong commitment to the role is essential, though work hours can be flexible Desire to be a core member of a small team with an entrepreneurial drive Comfortable with tackling large problems from many angles and bringing a product from an idea into a reality Enthusiastic about preventing assault Strong sense of humor and work ethic
