About the position:
ODSC is seeking a driven, enthusiastic self-starter who to assist with the planning, execution and promotion of our events in our Boston office. This position requires someone who is comfortable working in an extremely fast paced, startup environment and is comfortable reaching out to and interacting with a variety of people. To be successful in this position you must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, have a strong sense of responsibility, self-motivation, and flexibility. You must be extremely detail-oriented, able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, be willing to take initiative and must function effectively under pressure. This is a great role for results oriented self-starter with strong ability to think on their feet and strong planning skills.
Apply your project management skills to organizing and motivate cross functional teams to deliver on goals and milestones Work with our internal teams including marketing, partnerships, communications, and logistics to ensure team deliverable goals are established and on track. Assist with organizing national and international community events and conferences Help build new strategies to growth our events and conference and create action plans around those strategies. Use a variety of project management platforms such as Trello, Asana, or Jira and techniques (Agile) to organize teams and individuals. Develop and maintain positive relationships with potential and past speakers, sponsors and volunteers Plan, build and maintain sustainable partnership with Community organizations,Media organization and meetups Keep detailed and accurate records of all correspondence Attend all ODSC events Assist with event logistic planning; allocating space, food and beverage, etc. Store and organize information Ensure emails are answered in a timely fashion
Able to work from our Boston office (1 Broadway Cambridge, MA) Must be able to work a flexible schedule in excess of 40 hours a week Excellent project management skills Ability to manage multiple projects independently and simultaneously Experience either managing staff or managing groups of volunteers Excellent time management Excellent organizational abilities Strong written and spoken communication skills Available to travel throughout the US and abroad. (max 3 times a year) Ability to work independently as well as with a team Ability to follow a project schedule and keep track of tasks, time etc. Proficiency in using Google Drive Ideally be proficient in project management tool such as Trello, Asana or Jira and understand technique like Agile Project Management
